Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a highly reliable and durable heater wherein micro cracks are suppressed in the juncture between a resistance element and a lead wire and changes in the resistance value of the heater are suppressed even when a large electric current is fed to the resistance element; also to provide a glow plug comprising this heater. [Solution] The present invention is a heater (1) comprising a resistance element (3) having a heat generator (4), a lead wire (8) joined to an end of the resistance element (3), and an insulating substrate (9) covering the resistance element (3) and the lead wire (8); the heater having a connecting part (2) where the resistance element (3) and the lead wire (8) overlap in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the lead wire (8), and the border between the resistance element (3) and the lead wire (8) having a curved shape when the connecting part (2) is viewed in a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction.
