A heating element and a preparation method and a use therefor, the heating element comprising a base body and a coating layer covering the outer surface of the base body. The base body comprises a hard phase and a continuous phase, the hard phase comprising a single-phase or multi-phase ceramic, and the continuous phase comprising a single metal or an alloy. The preparation method for the heating element comprises the following steps: (1) acquiring a single-phase or multi-phase ceramic powder, and a single metal or alloy powder; (2) ball-milling the single-phase or multi-phase ceramic powder, the single metal or alloy powder, and an additive powder to acquire a powder slurry; (3) drying the powder slurry to obtain a pelletized powder material; (4) compression molding the pelletized powder material and then performing sintering to obtain a base body; and (5) surface coating the base body to obtain a heating element. Further disclosed is a use of the heating element in a heating device for new tobacco products. The heating element features good anti-oxidation performance, stable quality, and good heating uniformity. The preparation process is simple and efficient, and is economical.
