Abstract:
A heating method according to the present invention is for quenching a coil spring, wherein: the method includes a securing step for securing one end of a coil spring to an outer circumferential surface of a first shaft member and securing the other end thereof to an outer circumferential surface of a second shaft member, a heating step for heating the coil spring by energizing the first and second shaft members, and a rotating step for respectively rotating the first and second shaft members in the state in which the first and second shaft members are energized; the respective rotating axes of the first and second shaft members are positioned in the same straight line that forms an angle of 0-30° with respect to the horizontal direction; and a center axis of the coil spring attached to the first and second shaft members is parallel to the aforementioned straight line.
