Abstract:

This invention provides a heavy-load tire that is excellent in air holding properties and durability of a bead part and can withstand long-term use. In the heavy-load tire, an air shutoff layer having a thickness of not more than 1 mm and an oxygen permeability of not more than 3 × 10^-13 cm³·cm/cm²·sec·Pa as measured under conditions of 60ºC and 65RH% is provided on the whole area of the outermost layer in a carcass layer so that the end of the air shutoff layer is 100 mm or less from the front end of a bead part toe in a direction along a bead base line. Further, the thickness of an inner liner may be smaller than that of the conventional inner liner, or the inner liner can be omitted. Thus, a reduction in weight of the tire can be realized.
