Title:
HETEROCEPHALUS GLABER-DERIVED ANTIMICROBIAL POLYPEPTIDE HAVING POTENT ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY AGAINST GRAM-NEGATIVE BACTERIA AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/039826
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides an antimicrobial polypeptide having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1. An antimicrobial polypeptide of the present invention is a novel cathelicidin protein derived from Heterocephalus glaber and can be used as an alternative antibiotic because the protein exhibits potent antimicrobial activity against gram-negative multiple-drug resistant pathogens but is low in cytotoxicity and hemolytic activity.
