Disclosed is a pooling method for pooling input data, which may be expressed as a matrix, by means of a pooling window having a size represented by the respective row-directional and column-directional sizes Rp and Cp, the pooling method comprising the steps of: generating temporary data by pooling input data using a first pooling window having a size of Cp; generating pooled data by pooling the temporary data using a second pooling window (30) having a size of Rp.
