Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polymer material that exhibits excellent hole injection and transport performance, has electron blocking capabilities, and has high stability when in the form of a thin film. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide an organic EL element which has an organic layer (a thin film) formed from the polymer material, which has high luminous efficiency, and which has a long service life. This high molecular weight compound contains a repeating unit represented by general formula (1) and a repeating unit represented by general formula (2), and has a weight average molecular weight of at least 10,000 but less than 1,000,000 in terms of polystyrene equivalent.
