Title:
HIGH-POTENTIAL PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/201286
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
High-potential pluripotent stem cells according to the present invention have: the properties of conventional pluripotent stem cells, that is, the ability to be differentiated into an embryonic tissue which is all cells making up the body; and the ability to be differentiated into a germ line and/or cells of an extraembryonic tissue such as the placenta, that is, a differentiation ability similar to totipotency. Accordingly, since the high-potential pluripotent stem cells have the ability to be differentiated into cells of an embryonic tissue such as the placenta, in addition to conventional regenerative medicine for various diseases with all injuries in the body, a damaged site of the extraembryonic tissue can be reconstituted to improve or recover the functions of the damaged site, and the high-potential pluripotent stem cells can be applied to new fields of regenerative medicine, such as being able to be used for a treatment pertaining to reproduction such as an infertility treatment.
