Abstract:
A high-speed random number generation method and device, comprising two portions: an entropy source module (100) and an entropy sampling module (200). The entropy source module (100) is an autonomous Boolean network consisting of digital logic gates, the network consisting of one equivalence gate (102) and N-1 exclusive OR gates (101N-1), and the value of N being equal to 3n (n is a positive integer); and the entropy source module (100) may generate chaotic signals having broad and flat spectra. The entropy sampling module (200) is composed of a D trigger, which samples and quantifies the chaotic signals to generate a random number sequence. The random number sequence may pass test standards (NIST and Diehard statistical test) of the random number industry and has good random statistical characteristics. The device is entirely composed of digital logic gates, and the circuit structure is simple and easy to integrate and fabricate. Moreover, post-processing algorithms or circuits necessary for a conventional random number generation device are not needed, the power consumption level thereof may be greatly reduced, and the device may be widely applied to information security fields such as secure communication, key distribution, data encryption, and the like.
