Abstract:
A high strength and high magnetic permeability steel sheet for a cathode ray tube band, which has a chemical composition in mass %: C: 0.003 to 0.010 %, Si: 0.5 to 1.0 %, Mn: 1.0 to 2.0 %, P: 0.04 to 0.15 %, S: 0.02 % or less, Al: 0.030 % or less, N: 0.004 % or less, and the balance: Fe and inevitable impurities, with the proviso that C × Mn × P ≥ 2.5 × 10-4 is satisfied, and exhibits a ferrite grain diameter of 10 to 100 μm and a yield stress of 300 N/mm2 or more, and preferably exhibits a relative permeability at a direct current magnetic field of 0.35 Oe (μ0.35) of 400 or higher; and a method for producing the steel sheet which comprises carrying out the coiling after hot rolling at a temperature of 600 to 700°C and appropriately combining the percentage reduction in thickness and the annealing temperature in the range of 750 to 900°C. The steel sheet may be plated with a Zn-based or Al-based metal and may be subjected to a temper rolling of 1.5 % or less.
