Title:
HIGH-STRENGTH SELF-TAPPING SCREW AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2006/137460
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention provides a self-tapping screw that the molded product body has an ultrafine grain ferrite texture having an average particle diameter of not more than 2 μm in at least one cross-section in an arbitrary direction and at least one of three films of a metal plating film, a chromated film, and an electrodeposited film is formed on the surface of the molded product body. The self-tapping screw is a high-strength self-tapping screw that, unlike the prior art technique, can realize both excellent screwing properties and torsional strength without carburizing/quenching and tempering.
