Abstract:
A high voltage discharge lamp lighting apparatus whereby the switching control from a dim lighting to a nominal lighting can be improved. The high voltage discharge lamp lighting apparatus comprises: a power supplying circuit (10) that supplies a power to a high voltage discharge lamp; and a control unit (60) that receives a dimming signal to control the output power of the power supplying circuit. The high voltage discharge lamp lighting apparatus is constructed such that in response to that the control unit has received the dimming signal having been switched from a dim lighting to a nominal lighting, the control unit causes the output power or current of the power supplying circuit to rise in a predetermined time period (T).
