Abstract:
A hinge device superior in durability&semi and a foldable cellular phone using the same. A hinge device comprises a cylindrical case (7) with a bottom formed at one end, a disk member (6) received on the bottom of the case and adapted to turn integrally with the case, a cam member (4) received in the case and arranged such that in the close position and open position of a cover body (12), it is maintained in the state in which it is engaged with the disk member to fix the cover body (12) and its engaged state is cancelled by rotation caused by the opening and closing of the cover body (12), an urging means (3) pressing the cam member at one end in the direction of the disk member to maintain the state in which it is engaged with the disk member, and a stop (2) preventing the axial movement of the other end of the urging member and adapted to turn integrally with the cam member.
