Abstract:
A hinge device reduced in the number of parts and manufacturable at low cost since a large torque can be provided even if its diameter is not increased and even if the holding of a cover body such as a display device in a normal use position and the holding thereof in fully closed and fully opened states are realized by a shared structure. The hinge device is automatically closed in the closing direction at the fully closed position (0°) and holds that position, and conveniently usable even near the fully opened position (180°). The hinge device connecting one member to the other so as to be opened and closed each other comprises a fixed bracket fixed to the one member, a shaft rotatably pivoted on the fixed bracket and to which the other member is fixedly installed, and a plate spring formed in a roughly U-shape. The plate spring is adhered to the fixed bracket so that both end parts thereof in the roughly U-shape can be pressingly brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the shaft.
