Abstract:
Provided is a novel hinge device that can cause a large change in friction force. The hinge device is provided with: a shaft (1); an end-less annular bearing (4) into which the shaft (1) is inserted and that has, in alteration in the peripheral direction, a contact section (4a) contacting the shaft (1) and a non-contact section (4b) at which there is a gap in the space with respect to the shaft (1); a housing (2) that limits the rotation of the bearing (4) in a manner such that the shaft (1) rotates relative to the bearing (4); and a force imparting section (5, 6) that imparts force in a manner such that the bearing (4) deforms.
