The present invention facilitates management of a distribution history. A history management device 1 comprises: a loading and unloading history information storage unit 11 that stores loading and unloading history information associating the number of managed items (goods, materials, etc.) with a unique group number; and a control unit 13 that stores, into a loading and unloading history details information storage unit 12, for each set quantity that is a preset number of managed items, a unique sequence number and loading and unloading history details information in which a unique first flag indicating presence of a managed item is assigned, stores the number of managed items that has decreased in response to decrease in number of managed items into the loading and unloading history information storage unit 11 in association with a new group number, and changes the first flags of pieces of loading and unloading history details information that are equivalent to the number of managed items that has decreased and stored in the loading and unloading history details information storage unit 12, to a second flag indicating absence of a managed item.
