Abstract:
A hollow fiber membrane module 10 is provided with: a hollow fiber membrane bundle 15 having a plurality of bundled hollow fiber membranes 14; a housing 13 having formed an internal space S1 in which the hollow fiber membrane bundle 15 is housed; and a gas supply portion 2 for diffusing in the internal space S1 a gas for cleaning the hollow fiber membranes 14. The internal space S1 has an upper space S11 in which an upper-side portion from the center in the longitudinal direction of the hollow fiber membranes 14 is positioned, and a lower space S12 in which a lower-side portion from the center in the longitudinal direction of the hollow fiber membranes 14 is positioned. In the gas supply unit 2, pipe vent holes 54A and 54B (upper-side gas supply portions) for diffusing the gas into the housing 13 at a position of the upper space S11 are provided, and diffusing vent holes 43 (lower-side gas supply portions) for diffusing the gas into the housing 13 at a position lower than the lower space S12 are provided.
