Abstract:
The specification discloses a hollow integral shaft-including structural part of a resin comprising a functional-member-and-shaft-member-carrying hollow integral structure formed by at least one functional member of a resin and a shaft member of a resin coaxial and integral therewith, characterized in that this integral structure satisfies the relative condition defined by the following expression: 0.9 L(b)/L(a) 1 (wherein L(a) represents a total length of the integral structure measured along the axis thereof; and L(b) the length of a hollow portion measured along the same axis). The hollow integral shaft-including structural part according to the present invention has a high dimensional precision and a high productivity, and, moreover, it is formed by a material which can be recycled easily, the part being very useful in the industrial fields of automobiles, general machines, precision machines and electric and electronic machines. The specification also discloses a hollow injection molding method for producing this structural part efficiently, characterized by the steps of injecting a molten resin into a cavity of a mold through a gate, and introducing under pressure a hollow-portion-forming fluid into the interior of the molten resin in the cavity through the gate, this gate being provided in an end region, the length of which is not more than 1/10 of a total length of a hollow integral structure to be produced which is measured along the axis thereof, of the cavity. According to this method, an auxiliary chamber communicating with the cavity is preferably used.
