Disclosed is a home appliance control method centering on an air conditioner. The method comprises: preprocessing, establishing communication between an air conditioner and a home appliance, and setting the air conditioner as a control center; a user issuing a command to the air conditioner, and the air conditioner receiving, recognizing and processing the user command; and the air conditioner issuing a command to the home appliance, and the home appliance executing the command and feeding back a result to the user by means of the air conditioner. Taking an air conditioner as a control center means that one home appliance can control all home appliances, greatly facilitating daily life; no extra control device is required, thereby saving on costs and omitting transmission and control steps; expressing an intention by means of a voice and a gesture to further brings convenience to a user and also improves the accuracy of expression; and by means of a local area network and infrared transmission, control approaches are diversified, different device types are compatible, and requirements for making home appliances intelligent are lower.
