Abstract:
A durable honeycomb structural body hard to cause cracking by a thermal stress in use, wherein a plurality of honeycomb segments (2) formed in a honeycomb structure having a large number of axially passing circulation holes partitioned by partition walls are connected to each other and formed integrally with each other on the surfaces parallel with the axial direction of the honeycomb segments (2), characterized in that a heat capacity per unit volume at the outer peripheral part (6) of the honeycomb segment (2) is larger than the heat capacity per unit volume at the center part (8) of the honeycomb segment (2).
