Abstract:
Provided are a honeycomb structure and an exhaust gas purification device which can favorably suppress pressure loss, and which can burn off and remove carbon particulates by means of induction heating, or heat a catalyst supported on the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure is a columnar honeycomb structure constituted by joining a plurality of columnar honeycomb segments with a joining material layer therebetween, wherein: the columnar honeycomb segment has an outer peripheral wall and porous partition walls which are provided inside the outer peripheral wall and with which a plurality of partitioned cells that penetrate from one end surface to the other end surface to form a flow path are formed through partitioning; and a metal member is inserted in the joining material layer.
