Abstract:
A honeycomb structure formed in a continuous cell structure and capable of making compatible a reduction in pressure loss with an increase in purification performance and a method of manufacturing the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure (1) comprises a plurality of partition walls (2) forming a plurality of axially extending cells (3). At least a part of the partition walls (2) are formed in such a shape that is projectedly curved from the cross sectional center (4) of the cell structure to the outside or projectedly curved from the outside to the cross sectional center in the cross section thereof vertical to the axial direction.
