Embodiments of the present application provide a housing assembly and a laundry treatment device. The housing assembly comprises a first sub-shell section and a second sub-shell section that are mutually independent; the second sub-shell section is provided above the first sub-shell section; and the outer surface of the first sub-shell section and the outer surface of the second sub-shell section are used as at least a portion of the appearance surface of the housing assembly. According to the housing assembly of the embodiments of the present application, a plurality of first sub-shell sections having different appearances and a plurality of second sub-shell sections having different appearances can be produced by using different processes respectively; in an assembly process, the first sub-shell sections and the second sub-shell sections can be assembled according to different requirements to form a housing assembly having a plurality of appearance combinations, such that the appearance of the laundry treatment device can be flexibly changed, standardized and modular production and assembly can be performed, the manufacturing difficulty of manufacturing laundry treatment devices having different appearances in a manufacturing process is reduced, and the manufacturing efficiency is improved.
