Description:
Housing for hydro and aero turbines

Technical area

This innovation, if observed from a wider aspect, belongs to the area of hydro and aero energetics.

Technical problem

Technical problem which is solved here is increasing of the efficiency of the new concept of hydro-turbine P- 2009/186 for the application in open systems (wind, rivers, seas and oceans) by the improving of the surrounding tube of the new concept of the hydro-turbine.

The condition of technique

In the new concept of the hydro turbine as described in the patent application P-2006/186, the surrounding tube has widenings on its ends for the purpose of accepting bigger volume of water whose flow is accelerated later when passing through a narrower, central part of the surrounding tube of the new concept of the hydro-turbine (E-tube).

This innovation does not give a precise form, i.e., technical guidelines of the shape of the surrounding tube i.e., the housing of E-tube which lead to the maximum improvement of the performance of the new concept of the hydro - turbine P-2006/186 but also other similarly designed turbines.

The essence of the innovation

The essence of the innovation is seen in a special shape of the surrounding tube of the new hydro-turbine concept for the purpose of the speed increase of the fluid flow through the hydro-turbine when applied in open systems. The essence of the innovation is seen in a specially shaped front and rear widenings of the new hydro-turbine concepts as well as in special attachments on the surrounding tube as a whole which with the surrounding tube make one functional entity. The widenings made in the form of empty convex-concave (convex-truncated cones) with the tops of these cones connected to the central, cylinder, narrower part of the tube. These technical guidelines for the purpose of designing the framed tube, especially the front and rear widenings, enable the increase of the fluid when passing through the surrounding tube i.e. a new concept of the hydro-turbine whose integral part is the surrounding tube. However the speed of the fluid passing through the surrounding tube can be additionally increased by installing speed rings and semi-rings around the rear widenings of framed tube. The speed rings and semi-rings increase the speed of the fluid flux around the rear, outgoing widenings of the surrounding tube and the new concept of the hydro-turbine which produces a zone of decreased pressure around the outgoing widenings which makes an effect of absorption of the fluid from the surrounding tube and the new concept of the hydro-turbine resulting in the increase of the speed of the fluid flux inside the framed tube. Inside the speed rings and semi-rings there are supporters which connect speed rings or semi-rings with outgoing widenings of surrounding tube and which act at the same time as anti-whirling flaps. The role of the anti-whirling flaps is to prevent the fluid from whirling when passing through speed rings or semi-rings which enables the speed increase of the fluid through speed rings and semi-rings and thus increase the total speed of the fluid flow through the Surrounding tube and thus the new concept of the hydro-turbine. The supporters can be connected to the speed rings or semi-rings as well as to the outgoing widening of the surrounding tube in a mobile or immobile way. Provided winged regulators are located on speed rings or speed semi-rings, the speed of the fluid flow through the framed tube, i.e. the new concept of the hydro-turbine is additionally increased.

These improvements enable:

A maximal increase of the fluid speed through the new concept of the hydro-turbine which is of the essential importance for the increase of the efficiency of the new concept of the hydro-turbine in the application in open systems.

Surrounding tube - housing for the new concept of the hydro-turbine P - 2006/186 consists of surrounding tubei which on its front end has a widening 2 and on its rear end a widening 3. Surrounding tube - a housing for the new concept of the hydro-turbine P - 2006/186 can have more versions. The first version consists of a central tube 1 which on its front, intake end has a widening 2 and on its rear, outgoing end a widening 3. The widenings 2 and 3 are designed as shallow convex-concave truncated cones whose narrower parts are connected to the central tube 1. The framing (surrounding) tube designed in such a way enables the acceleration of the fluid when passing through framed tube. However by adding sped rings 6 (or speed semirings 8) with flap regulators 10 the speed of the fluid flow through the surrounding tube is increased even more resulting in the increase of the efficiency of the new concept of the hydro-turbine. The front inlet widening 2 acts so that it directs fluid towards the narrower central part 1 of the surrounding tube which makes the fluid to accelerate its flux. A convex-concave rounded shape of the widening 2 enables a natural fluid flow, without sudden and rough changes of the trace towards the narrower, central part 1 of the framed tube. The speed rings 6 and speed semi-rings 8 act in order to increase the speed of the fluid flux around the rear, outgoing widening 3 of the surrounding tube and the new concept of the hydro-turbine, generating a zone of the decreased pressure around the outgoing widening 3 which creates the effect of absorption of the fluid from the framed tube and the new concept of the hydro-turbine which at the same time increases the speed of he fluid flux inside the framing tube. Inside the speed rings 6 and speed semi-rings 8, supporters 7 which connects speed rings 6 or semi-rings 8 with outgoing widening 3 of the framed tube, are located which at the same time act as anti-whirling flaps. The role of anti-whirling flaps 7, as well as the role of speed rings 6 and semi-speed rings 8, is to prevent whirling of the fluid when exiting exit widening 3 and passing through the speed rings 6 or speed semi-rings 8 which increases the speed of the fluid flow through the surrounding tube 6 and speed semirings 8 and thus increases the total speed of the fluid flow through the surrounding tube and the new concept of the hydro-turbine. The supporters 7 can be connected to the speed rings 6 or semi-rings 8 as well as to the outgoing widening 3 of the framed wrapping 9 in a mobile or immobile way provided it is located across the front widening 2, the central part 1 and the rear widening 3. Provided the flap regulators 10 are located on the speed rings 6 or speed semi-rings 8, the speed of the fluid flow through the framed tube, i.e., the new concept of the hydro-turbine additionally increases. The flap regulators have the role of stabilizing the fluid whirling in the area above the speed rings 6 and the speed semi-rings 8. Above the front widening 2, of the central part 1 of the surrounding tube and the rear outgoing widening 3 framed wrapping 9 can be located, whose role is to limit and isolate the space between the front widening 2 and the rear widening 3, inside which delicate equipment can be located for the purpose of quality increase and versatility of the usage of the new concept of the hydro-turbine.

Surrounding tube - a housing for the new concept of the hydro-turbine as well as the functional components a speed ring 6, a semi-ring 8, anti-whirling flaps and supporters 7, winged regulators 10 as one functional entity are designed in such a way as to enable, when in interaction with the fluid flowing around framed tube i.e. housing of the new concept of the hydro-turbine, the acceleration and the highest value of the speed as well as the best balance of the speed of the fluid passing through the framed tube of the housing of the new concept of the hydro-turbine and through the new concept of the aero-turbine. In this way the increase of the efficiency of the new concept of the aero-turbine P-2006/186 is achieved.

Industrial application:

The increase of the efficiency of the new concept of P-2006/186 but also of the other similarly designed hydro and aero turbines for the application in the open systems (rivers, seas and oceans).
