Abstract:
In a housing for optical components and a projector, heat from an optical device is transmitted to a bottom face portion (512B) of an optical component-receiving portion (512) of a housing (5A) for optical components. A duct (6) is formed at the bottom face portion (512B). Cooling air passing through a first flow passage (6A) cools the bottom face portion (512B), and the air is then fed to a hole (515R) and cools a liquid crystal display panel (441R) etc. Cooling air passing through a second flow passage (6B) of the duct (6) is introduced in holes (515B, 515G) and cools liquid crystal display panels (441B, 441G). This makes it possible that a light modulation device and other components including the bottom face of the housing for optical components are sufficiently cooled.
