Abstract:
The present invention provides a hub unit with a steering function that converts linear motion of an actuator into rotational motion with high efficiency and that has a high strength with respect to reverse input from a wheel. The present invention comprises: a hub unit body (2) that has a hub bearing (15) which rotationally supports a wheel (9); a unit support member (3) that rotatably supports the hub unit body around a turning axis (A) extending in the up-down direction; and a steering actuator (5) that drives the hub unit body to rotate about the turning axis, wherein the steering actuator has a motor and a translational mechanism (25) that converts rotation output from the motor into linear motion, a joint part (8) is interposed between the translational mechanism and the hub unit body, and, when the hub unit body is at a neutral position in the steering angle, an axis (L) of the translational mechanism of the steering actuator is orthogonal to a plane (P) including the turning axis of the hub unit body and a first center point (JO1) of the joint part on the hub unit body side.
