Abstract:
A water passage 6 passing from a bow 1 to a stern 2 is provided. Of the three types of resistance faced by a ship moving along the surface of the water, i.e., wave-making resistance, viscous pressure resistance, and viscous friction resistance, flushing water from the bow through the water passage to the stern nearly eliminates the former two. Furthermore, the structure of the water passage increases the stability of a ship traveling at high speed, and the structure of water wheels 14, which prevent loss such as the swirling flow generated by a screw propeller at the rear of the propeller and are disposed in multiple rows, increases propulsive efficiency and propulsive force, thereby improving the high speed properties of a ship.
