A humidifier (100) and a shutoff control method thereof (600), the humidifier (100) comprising: a housing body (1) and a control system, an air inlet (15) and an air outlet (16) being disposed on the housing body (1), and an air flow channel being formed between the air inlet (15) and the air outlet (16) inside the housing body (1); an air filter component (2), a heating component (3), and an evaporative wet curtain (4) are arranged inside the housing body (1) in sequence according to the direction of the flow of air along the air flow channel, and the heating component (3) is electrically connected to the control system. The shutoff control method (600) comprises: the control system controls a water suction pump (7) to stop operating; and, after the water suction pump (7) has stopped operating for the duration of a specified delay, the control system controls a fan (9) to stop operating. The present humidifier (100) can effectively increase the amount of humidification and can also effectively ensure the cleanliness of the evaporative wet curtain (4) and a water storage tank (5); in addition, the delayed shutoff control solves the problem of the evaporative wet curtain (4) being prone to mould and odours in the long term.
