Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device (e.g., a user equipment (UE) or base station) may determine a coding scheme for encoding information. The coding scheme may be a polar coding scheme or a low-density parity-check (LDPC) coding scheme and may be determined by the wireless device based on a code rate and block size (e.g., a size associated with or that is a payload size) associated with the information. For instance, the wireless device may compare a code rate and block size associated with the information with a number of code rate and payload size thresholds and may correspondingly determine a coding scheme type. Upon determining the coding scheme type, the wireless device may transmit the encoded information to another wireless device.
