Title:
ORGANIC/INORGANIC HYBRID AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/056888
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: an organic/inorganic hybrid which is high in terms of flame retardancy, flexibility, moldability, and affinity for organic compounds and in which an organic compound having a large number of carbon atoms can be clathrated; and a process for producing the hybrid. The problem can be solved by using an organic/inorganic hybrid (1) which comprises a hydroxylated mineral (40) configured of platy inorganic-compound layers (11a, 11b, 11c, and 11d) that have been stacked and an organic compound (13) clathrated between the inorganic-compound layers (11a, 11b, 11c, and 11d), wherein the hydroxylated mineral (40) is one hydroxylated mineral selected from among Mg(OH)2, Ca(OH)2, Al(OH)3, AlO(OH), Fe(OH)3, and FeO(OH), and the organic compound (13) is a sugar or a derivative thereof which each has 4-40 carbon atoms.
