Title:
HYDRAULIC PERCUSSION MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1997/048882
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to hydraulic percussion mechanisms used in mining and construction industries for treating frozen soils and rocks. This mechanism comprises a body (1) with a gas energy accumulator (2), an introduction chamber (3) containing a striker (4) with a head (5), and a stepped valve (6) biased by said resilient energy accumulator (2). The outer surface of the valve (6) and the inner surface of the body (1) define an overflow chamber (7) that is periodically connected with the introduction chamber (3). Grooves (9) are formed in the inner surface of the body (1) and in the outer surface of the overflow chamber (7), wherein the surface of said grooves (9) together with the stepped valve (6) define a gap in the form of a labyrinth (10). The stepped valve (6) is mounted so as to co-operate with the body (1) and to shut the labyrinth, thus defining a pressure chamber (8). The inner surface of the stepped valve (6) and the head of the striker (4) define a sub-valve chamber (11) which is connected with the pressure chamber (8) when the striker enters the valve through channels (12). The overflow chamber (7) is in continuous communication with a drainage duct (13) while the introduction chamber (3) is in continuous communication with a pressure duct (14).
