Abstract:
A hydrogen generator provided with a housing (10) containing a catalyst (11) filled in an inner space (10a), a supply pipe (12) opening in the space (10a), a blowout pipe (14) for blowing out a reformed gas generated by the reaction in the space (10a) therefrom, methanol supply means (20, 21) connected to the pipe (12), and oxygen supply means (30, 31, 32) connected to the pipe (12), which generator is characterized by being provided with heating means (13) near the opening of the pipe (12), thus attaining the shortening of the time taken from the startup till the generation of a sufficient quantity of hydrogen.
