Abstract:

Provided is a method for producing hydrotalcite in which the zirconia content in the resulting hydrotalcite is low and the transparency of a resin is greatly improved when this hydrotalcite is combined with a resin such as polyvinyl chloride resin. The invention pertains to a method for producing hydrotalcite using as raw materials a magnesium compound and/or zinc compound and an aluminum compound, wherein the method includes a slurry preparation step for preparing a slurry containing all or part of at least one selected from the group consisting of hydroxides, oxides, and carbonates of the above raw materials; a wet grinding step for wet-grinding this slurry under predetermined conditions, by using zirconia beads or zirconia-silica beads; and a hydrothermal treatment step for hydrothermal treatment to synthesize hydrotalcite having a BET value and Zr content within predetermined ranges after having added the remaining raw materials to the resulting slurry.
