Abstract:
A disposable hygiene article (100) includes a top sheet (110), a backsheet (140), and an absorbent core (130) disposed therebetween. The top sheet (110) comprises a perforated hydrophilic non-woven fabric layer (150) which has a plurality of pores (160), a skin facing surface (111) and a garment facing surface (112) opposite the skin facing surface (111). The disposable hygiene article (100) further has a nanofiber layer (120) disposed on the garment facing surface (112) of the perforated hydrophilic non-woven fabric layer (150). The nanofiber layer (120) further comprises an active ingredient selected from the group consisting of an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory, an anti-microbial, an emollient, and mixtures thereof. The nanofiber layer (120) has densely packed nanofibers (310) disposed between at least a portion of the plurality of pores (160) and loosely packed nanofibers (320) disposed over at least a portion of the plurality of pores (160). The disposable hygiene article (100) has improved body fluid redistribution and retention and controlled release of active ingredients useful for calming the skin, protecting the skin from irritation or infection, and/or promoting healing of rashes/broken skin.
