Abstract:
An identification device that identifies types of paper sheets, the device being such that: a plurality of parameters, including a parameter pertaining to the characteristics of the paper sheets, are acquired by a sensor; and the type of paper sheet is identified on the basis of the result of the plurality of parameters acquired by the sensor being inputted to an estimation model obtained through machine learning in which parameters that correspond to parameters acquired by the sensor and include a first parameter and a second parameter, which are sorted according to whether there is a tendency for the value of the parameter to change due to prescribed factors, are used as input data, and in which the type of paper sheet in instances where these parameters are obtained are used as teaching data. The estimation model includes a first partial model to which the first parameter is inputted, a second partial model to which the second parameter is inputted, and a third partial model that outputs a result pertaining to the type of the paper sheet on the basis of the output of the first partial model and the output of the second partial model.
