Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to make a driver aware of an obstacle outside an effective visual field range of the driver. An illumination control device (101) according to the present disclosure comprises: an obstacle acquisition unit (11) that acquires information on at least one obstacle present in an area around a vehicle (24); a line-of-sight direction acquisition unit (12) that acquires the direction of the line of sight of a driver (25) of the vehicle (24); a visual field estimation unit (13) that estimates a certain range centered on the line of sight direction to be an effective visual field range of the driver (25); a determination unit (14) that determines whether the specific obstacle, which is one obstacle among the at least one obstacle, is included in the effective visual field range; and an illumination control unit (15) which, when the specific obstacle is not included in the effective visual field range, causes an illumination device (23) mounted to the vehicle (24) to implement guidance illumination in order to guide the line of sight of the driver (25) to the specific obstacle. The guidance illumination is implemented in the direction of an end part of the effective visual field range, the end part being near the specific obstacle.
