Abstract:
An illumination system is provided with a master device for transmitting light-emission control commands, and a plurality of illumination modules. Each of the plurality of illumination modules has a surface light source, receives a light-emission control command, and controls the driving of the surface light source in accordance with auto-control data included in the received light-emission control command. Furthermore, the illumination system includes: external-input detection sensors which are provided on or in the vicinity of a light-emission surface of the surface light source of each of the plurality of illumination modules, and which detect external inputs; transmission means for transmitting, to the master device, an address request command when an external input is detected by one of the external-input detection sensors; an address setting means which is provided to the master device, and which sets an address in response to the address request command; and a replying means which replies, to the illumination module which transmitted the address request command, with an address-imparting command including the address set by the address setting means. Each of the plurality of illumination modules is provided with: a means which receives the address-imparting command and acquires the address included in the address-imparting command; and a means for extracting auto-control data from within the light-emission control command corresponding to the address.
