Abstract:
The present invention was made in view of the problem and addresses the problem of providing an image encoding/transmitting apparatus that can maintain image quality while suppressing an increase in coding amount.
In order to solve the problem, an image encoding/transmitting apparatus of the present invention is provided with: a whole encoding unit that encodes the whole of an input image, thereby generating whole-encoded data; an image trimming unit that determines an important area in the input image and that outputs a trimmed image, obtained by extracting an image of the determined important area, and trimming position information indicating the position of the trimmed image; a partial encoding unit that encodes the trimmed image at a higher bit rate than the whole-encoded data, thereby generating partial-encoded data; and a multiplex unit that multiplexes and outputs the whole-encoded data, the partial-encoded data, and the trimming position information to a transmission path.
