Abstract:
The present invention plays back an audio signal by imaging a disc record in a non-contact manner and using a pixel value set of the captured image to calculate the coordinates of an edge, with the boundary between a groove and non-grooved disc surface of the disc record being designated as the edge and the edge being an extension of the undulations of the groove interior section. Noise is reduced by orthogonal transformation of a row of radial-direction pixel values including a plurality of grooves, and a determination of the difference in frequency component distribution between a normal state and a dusty/scratched state to detect dust/scratches. High-quality playback of a disc record can thus be achieved, even in the case of worn grooves, by a conventional disc-record stylus-tracing playback machine. [Problem] To play back sound while eliminating deterioration in quality caused by wear during playback by tracing a stylus on a disc record, and eliminating noise caused by adhered dust during playback by laser. [Solution] The present invention continuously forms captured images of a disc record, plays back the boundary coordinates between a groove and a disc surface as an audio signal, and uses image processing to detect adhered dust, perform a correction therefor, and thus eliminate noise.
