Embodiments of the present application relate to the field of electronic devices. Disclosed are an image capture method and an electronic device. Photos that satisfy the personalized requirements of a user can be captured, thereby improving the photography efficiency of an electronic device. The method comprises: displaying a preview interface of a camera application on a touch screen, the preview interface comprising a viewfinder window, the viewfinder window comprising a photography picture captured by a camera; in response to a first operation, determining the photography picture, in the viewfinder window, as a reference image; displaying the reference image on the touch screen; determining a first contour line and a second contour line, the first contour line being a contour line of a first photography target in the reference image, and the second contour line being generated in response to an input of a user in the reference image; displaying the preview interface of the camera application, and displaying the first contour line in the viewfinder window; if detecting that the first photography target in the viewfinder window coincides with the first contour line, displaying the second contour line in the viewfinder window; and photographing the photography picture in the viewfinder window.
