Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an image capture system, a control device, and a control method which make it possible to acquire an image that enables better visual recognition of a surgical field. The image capture system is provided with: an image capture device which captures an image of a predetermined image capture area; an illumination device which radiates illuminating light so as to illuminate the image capture area, and in which the amount of illuminating light is adjustable for each local region narrower than the image capture area; and a control unit which provides control with respect to the image capture device and the illumination device. In the image captured by means of the image capture device, a high-luminance region that has a luminance value exceeding a predetermined luminance area is detected, and the amount of illuminating light with which a local region corresponding to the high-luminance region is to be irradiated by the illumination device is determined to be a reduce amount of light which is reduced from the amount of light with respect to the entire image capture area. The present technology may be applied to a surgical camera system, for example.
