Abstract:
The present invention provides: an image capturing device in which the visibility of a display in a finder can be satisfactorily secured from the moment that power is input; a method for controlling the display in the finder of the image capturing device; and a program for controlling the display in the finder of the image capturing device. A viewfinder (30), which superimposes a display of a finder LCD (36) onto an optical image of a subject observed by an observation optical system 32, is provided with a variable ND filter (40) for adjusting the quantity of light of the optical image of the subject. While a digital camera is powered off, information about the time is acquired, and the target transmittance of the variable ND filter (40) is updated on the basis of information about transmittance that is determined for each time period. When the target transmittance is updated, the variable ND filter (40) is driven, and the transmittance of the variable ND filter (40) is changed to the target transmittance.
