Abstract:
An image acquisition unit (S110) acquires a plurality of captured images using a plurality of image capture devices (11, 12) which capture an image of a surrounding area. A detection unit (S130) detects a three-dimensional object existing in the surrounding area. A first conversion unit (S120) converts, in accordance with a conversion rule, the plurality of captured images acquired by means of the image acquisition unit into a plurality of individual overlooking images (101, 102) shown from points of view overlooking a vehicle. Then, a first conversion image (105) is created using a generally overlooking image (104) obtained by synthesizing the plurality of individual overlooking images. A second conversion unit (S160) creates a second conversion image (106) which is an image obtained by converting, in accordance with a conversion rule, an image captured from a virtual camera (13e) comprising a camera which is virtually disposed in a virtual position, which is a position set on the vehicle, such that a virtual optical axis direction is in the direction of the three-dimensional object. A synthesis unit (S170) synthesizes the second conversion image over the first conversion image and thereby creates a synthesized image.
