Abstract:

In order to make it more convenient for a user to search for a scene in cases when high-speed reproduction stops before or after the image desired by a user, an image data processing device for decoding and outputting data encoded using the MPEG video compression technique is equipped with a video output control unit which, once high-speed reproduction has been stopped, receives the output image being output when the stop instruction was received and a predetermined number of images in the forward and reverse reproduction directions from the output image from a video decoder unit and outputs the images as an image list. In this manner, the device makes it more convenient for a user to search for a scene in cases when high-speed reproduction stops before or after the image desired by a user.
