An image display apparatus is provided with a display apparatus, a housing, a first component (21), and a second component (22). The display apparatus has a display screen. The housing has a first section having a front surface that is provided with an opening from which the display screen is exposed, and a second section covering the display apparatus from the reverse side of the display screen. The first component (21) has a first surface (21f), which faces a flat surface when the first component is placed on the flat surface, a second surface (21g), which is on the reverse side of the first surface (21f), and a third surface (21h), which is provided between the first surface (21f) and the second surface (21g). The second component (22) has a fourth surface (22e), which faces the second surface (21g), and which is in contact with the second surface (21g), and a fifth surface (22f), which faces the third surface (21h), and which is in contact with the third surface (21h), said second component being positioned further toward the rear side than the front surface, being exposed to the outside, and being coupled to the first component (21).
