Abstract:
Provided is an image display device which utilizes a phase modulation technique to project a high contrast image. The image display device is provided with: a trained neural network model which estimates a phase modulation distribution corresponding to an output target image; a phase modulating unit which performs phase modulation of incident light on the basis of the phase modulation distribution estimated by the trained neural network model; a brightness modulating unit which performs brightness modulation of the phase modulated light output by the phase modulating unit; and a control unit which outputs the incident light that has been subjected to phase modulation and brightness modulation, in a prescribed position.
