Abstract:
An image display device and a method for repairing a short-circuit failure are provided, and the method is applied to, for instance, an active matrix type image display device wherein an organic EL element is used and makes it possible to repair a short-circuited area between wiring patterns.  A wiring pattern (BP) which bypasses a portion where a signal line (DTL) and a scanning line (WSL) intersect with each other is provided on the scanning line (WSL) or the signal line (DTL), and a short-circuited area between the wiring patterns is repaired by using the wiring pattern for bypassing (BP).
