Abstract:
An image display device is provided with a front substrate and a rear substrate. The front substrate is provided with a phosphor layer; a resistive layer provided between the phosphor layers; a metal back layer, which is provided on the phosphor layer and the resistive layer, divided by a gap (Gx) in a first direction (X) orthogonally intersecting with a scanning direction of the image display, and is divided by a gap (Gy) on the resistive layer in a second direction (Y) which is a scanning direction of the image display; and a high pressure applying means for applying a high pressure upon the metal back layer. The rear substrate is provided to face the front substrate, and a plurality of electron emission elements are arranged on the rear substrate. In the image display device, on a part of the resistive layer between regions divided by the gap (Gy), a low resistance region having a relatively low resistance compared with that of other regions is discretely arranged.
