Abstract:
An image display device (10) according to an embodiment comprises a display panel (12), a frame part (14), and a drive unit (16). The display panel (12) can be switched between an image display mode in which an image is displayed and a transparent mode in which a transparent state is brought about whereby an object (200) on the rear-surface side of the display panel (12) is visually recognizable when viewed from the front side. The frame part (14) comprises an upper plate part (28) which is disposed along the upper edge part of the display panel (12) and which protrudes rearward. The drive unit (16) comprises a circuit unit (42) which drives the display panel (12), and is supported by the upper plate part (28) at the lower surface side of the upper plate part (28).
