Abstract:
An image display device according to the present technology comprises: a light emitting unit that emits light; a phase modulator that subjects incident light from the light emitting unit to spatial light phase modulation; a control unit that causes the phase modulator to perform spatial light phase modulation for respectively generating, as reconstructed images that are generated through spatial light phase modulation of the incident light, a first reconstructed image in a first reconstructed image region and a second reconstructed image in a second reconstructed image region that is in a different location from the first reconstructed image region in an image plane direction; a projection lens that projects the first reconstructed image; and a light shielding unit that performs light shielding with regard to the second reconstructed image such that the second reconstructed image is not projected by the projection lens.
